NEET MDS 2021: As per the updates, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) MDS aspirants have moved to Supreme Court against the delay caused by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) in the release of the counselling schedule for NEET-MDS 2021. Counselling dates have not been declared yet. The petition calls the delay from MCC’s end “unjust and infinite”, according to Bar and Bench. The entrance test was conducted on 16th December 2020. Aspirants are waiting for counselling dates as it will accelerate admission in colleges. The plea sought directions from MCC to hold a separate counselling for NEET MDS and not to wait for the counselling of NEET-PG. Also, the PG exams have been postponed till 31st August 2021.

Demands of Aspirants to Supreme Court

  • To issue an appropriate Writ, order, or Direction, like a Writ of Mandamus, under Article 32 of the constitution of India, directing respondent no. 1 to conduct separate counselling for the NEET-MDS 2021 and wait for the commencement of NEET-MDS 2021 counselling until the counselling for NEET-PG commences.
  • To issue an appropriate written order on the direction like a Writ of Mandamus, under Article 32 of the Constitution to direct the Respondent No. 1 to release the counselling date at the earliest, but in any event, not later than three weeks.
  • Pass such further orders as may be deemed fit and proper in facts and circumstances of the present case, in the interest of justice.

The plea filed through Advocates Tanvi Dubey and Charu Mathur said: "Umpteen efforts were made by the Petitioners to get in touch with the Respondents in order to get an idea about the schedule of the counselling, however, till today there has been no update, regarding the counselling."
