NIRF Ranking 2021: On 9th September, the National Institutional Ranking Framework, NIRF Rankings 2021, will be released by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in a virtual event. The NIRF Ranking is released annually by the Union Government in order to recognize Top Universities, Colleges and other Educational Institutions across India. The event is scheduled to be held at 12:30 PM in the afternoon and will be webcast on official website of the ranking platform i.e. nirfindia.org. Typically, the NIRF Ranking which identifies the top educational institutions from India is released in June every year. However, for 2021 session, the same have been delayed by a few months owing to the second wave of the pandemic and the resultant lockdowns and logistical concerns.
Highlights from Last Year’s NIRF Ranking
Last year, the NIRF Ranking 2021 were released in online format owing to the pandemic. Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Madras was adjudged the Top Institute of India 2020 (Overall Category) while Indian Institute of Science, IISc Bangalore was the Top University followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University. The top ranked educational institutes in various categories for last year’s ranking is given in the table below:
