The final year students at National Law University Delhi graduating in 2019 have secured a 100 percent placement record this year. A total of 41 students had participated in the recruitment activities this year as compared to 38 students who participated in Day Zero last year when NLU had already placed 19 students.
This year around 20 students were picked up by top corporate law firms whereas foreign firms hired into four training contracts. The largest recruiter this year was Trilegal that hired a total of 5 students, followed by Khaitan & Co. that picked up 4 students. Some of the other popular recruiters include S&R associates which hired three students, AZB & Partners, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and L&L Partners that hired 2 students each. P&A Law offices and Talwar Thakore & Associates made one accepted offer.
Also, NLU Delhi students bagged a grand total of four training contracts paying a hefty sum of UK pounds that was split evenly across the foreign firms Herbert Smith Freehills and Linklaters. That would suggest that all four vacation schemes from Day Zero last year were converted into training contracts.
A total of 13 students joined private sector corporates in-house, while 4 joined the PSU, Steel Authority of India. The total batch strength is of 78 students, of whom the remaining students will be pursuing non-corporate jobs, and pursue LLM at universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. Some students have also secured scholarships such as LAMP Fellowship administered by PRS and the Arthur C Helton Fellowship granted by the American Society of International Law, as per the Recruitment Coordination Committee (RCC).
