Rajasthan Students’ Union Election 2019: The ruling Congress party was faced with another embarrassment in Rajasthan, as its students’ body National Students Union of India (NSUI) failed to bag even a single president’s post during the recently concluded Rajasthan Students’ Union Election 2019. According to the result announced on 28th August 2019 – Wednesday, RSS backed ABVP (Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad) bagged 5 President’s Posts while 4 Independent candidates secured the top post in other government universities.
Rajasthan University Students’ Union Election 2019
RUSU Election 2019 saw a rebel candidate from NSUI Pooja Verma, who contested as an independent candidate, clinch the President’s Post for the 4th time in a row. Pooja raced past her NSUI and ABVP opponents to secure the president’s post in one of the largest Government Universities in the state. NSUI’s Priyanka Meena bagged the vice president’s post in RUSU Election 2019. National Students Union of India (NSUI) candidate Mahaveer Prasad Gurjar won the election for the post of General Secretary while ABVP’s Kiran Meena became Joint Secretary in RUSU Election 2019.
Students’ Union Elections – Other Universities.
Jai Narain Vyas University which is based in Jodhpur also saw Independent candidate Ravindra Singh Bhati win the post of President. Similarly, Maharaja Ganga Singh University also saw Independent Candidate Shrawan Jakhar win the President’s Post. While at Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner – the President’s post went to Independent Candidate Nikhil Pal Bajiya.
Dayanand Saraswati University saw the saffron wave with all the four posts being bagged by RSS affiliated ABVP including the President’s Post won by Rameshwar Chaba. At Mohanlal Sukhadia University located at Udaipur, ABVP’s Nikhil Raj Singh Rathore bagged the top post. Again at Udaipur’s Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology the President’s position was bagged by ABVP’s Pawan Jat.

At Maharaja Surajmal Brij University in Bharatpur, ABVP’s Kavita Faujdar won the top post. Similarly, ABVP’s Vijay Sharma bagged the student union president’s post at Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University, Jaipur.
