The Maharashtra government is going to set up a training and career guidance institute for those who belong to the OBC, SBC and VJNT communities. This will be a boost for the students who belong to these communities. In a cabinet meeting presided by the Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, he approved the formation of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Research and Training Institute. The institute will also be called MahaJyoti. The institute will provide training and career guidance for the students who belong to the OBC, SBC and VJNT communities.
After the cabinet meeting, OBC, SBC, VJNT Communities Welfare Department Minister Sanjay Kute said that the headquarter of the institute will be in Pune. Also, there will be divisional offices of the institute which will be based in Nagpur and Buldhana. The Minister also informed that a budget of Rs 380 crore has been sanctioned which will be spent for the next two years. The institute is aimed at developing the social, educational and economic status of the mentioned communities. The students who have been preparing for the competitive exams will get benefit from this scheme.
As per the officials, the MahaJyoti institute will be run having a helpline number and a counselling centre of its own. The institute will be offering scholarships to the students who are pursuing M Phil and PhD courses. On the social front, the institute will be helping remove the biases that are prevalent on the basis of caste. The MahaJyoti institute will offer the programmes named as 'Jyotidhoot,' 'Jaldhoot' and 'Savitridhoot.' With the formation of the institute, the students who need help from the government will get benefit and they will be able to shape their career in abetter way.
