Visva Bharati University Final Semester Exams: The Visva Bharati University has notified that the exams for the students in the final semester will be conducted in the final semester. The concerned principals of different Departments or Bhavanas have also been asked to choose the modalities for conducting the tests. The Central University said that keeping inline with the UGC guidelines, the final semester examinations will be conducted mandatorily and will be wrapped up by 30th September.
The Principals of various Bhavanas, were entrusted with the responsibility of choosing mode of examination as per the UGC directives at the meeting of the Executive Council. In the statement issued by the University on Tuesday, it also said that the principals have also been asked to take into account the views of heads of departments, faculty and students and also ascertain the steps taken by other Central Universities in this regard.
The statement further said that the HODs and faculty members of the various departments will be consulted by the respective Principals in order to devise a system of evaluation they deem appropriate under such extraordinary circumstances. Also, the the views of the students that the administration has received will also be taken into account while finalising the mode of examination in addition to assessing the modes already opted by the other Central Universities of the country, read the statement.
The statement also asserted that being a Central university, Visva-Bharati will strictly adhere to the Supreme Court ruling on August 28 which called for the conducting of final year examination by 30th September 2020 as per the UGC stipulations. The Executive Council had also resolved to start normal functioning conforming to the standard operating protocols of Centre with regard to COVID-19 soon. The date for the same has not been specified by the Central University as yet.
