2524 vacancies in UPCL to be notified soon! 50% to be filled through direct recruitment

The Uttarakhand State Government has released an approval of 2524 staff structure in Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL). 50% of the vacancies will be filled through direct recruitment and the rest through departmental promotion. All the posts are proposed to be filled by 28 February 2017.

According to UPCL spokesperson PC Dhyani a proposal for 3223 vacant posts was send to the State administration on 25 February 2016. Umakant Panwar, the State Power Principal Secretary approved 2524 posts.

Posts like drivers, chowkidars, peons and others will be filled through outsourcing. As in the case of UJVNL and PTCUL, the chief engineer (civil) post will be filled through departmental promotion process.

A disproportionate number of staff members has disrupted the power distribution system in UPCL. Considered to be the third power distribution system in the country, UPCl has a teeming number of customers, but with less staffs. This has interrupted the power supply to the customers.
