The Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) for Group 3 posts was successfully held on September 15, with 11,23,204 candidates appearing across 2,305 centers statewide. It was conducted in a single shift from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. To ensure the integrity of the examination, internet services were suspended across the state for three and a half hours, as stated by officials. Strict measures were taken and security forces were deployed at 429 centers identified as "sensitive" due to past malpractices and geographical concerns.
Feedback from aspirants indicated that the ADRE exam, conducted to fill HSSLC level posts, was of easy to moderate difficulty. Among the five sections—Social Studies, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and Mental Ability, General English, and General Mathematics—most candidates found English and Mathematics to be the easiest.

In preparation for the exam, state authorities implemented several strict precautions. Candidates were required to undergo mandatory frisking before entering the centers and were permitted to carry only a limited number of items—such as a pen, admit card, ID card, cash, and plastic cards like credit/debit cards and driving licenses.
The state had recently enacted the Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2024, which imposes strict penalties on anyone attempting to compromise the fairness of the examination.
