Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed class X and National Trade Certificate (NTC) along with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the respective trade of Fitter/ Welder/ Electrician/ Instrument Mechanic/ Mill Wright Mechanic/ Electronics Mechanic and Motor Mechanic trade (for Material Handling Operator) with not less than 60% marks in each NTC and NAC for General, OBC candidates and 55% for SC/ST candidates. Working knowledge of regional language in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka based units and Hindi for other units.
Age Limit (as on 1 September 2011): Maximum 27 years for General category, 30 years for OBC and 32 years for SC/ ST category students
Remuneration: The Selected candidates will initially work as Temporary Employees (Artisans) for a period of one year. During this period they will be paid consolidated wages at Rs 11000 per month.
On successful completion of this period, they will be absorbed in the regular establishment as Artisan Grade-IV at the minimum of the scale of pay of Rs 11700 - 3% - 23000 with applicable allowances.
Application Fee: Candidates belonging to General/ OBC category need to pay a fee of Rs 125 and no fee will be charged form candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD category.
The fee can be paid in any of the branches of State Bank of India into the ‘Power Jyoti Account Numbers' available on Unit website.
The triplicate challan for payment of Examination can be downloaded from the website of the respective unit.
Selection Procedure: The selection process will consist of written test, and personal interview.
