Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to dig into the recruitment and appointment process made by UPPSC during the time period of 2012 to 2017. The decision was taken at a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The Yogi government has given a nod to the CBI probe into the appointments made by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission during Akhilesh Yadav regime. As per a spokesman, all the appointments made in between 2012 to 2017 will be put under scrutiny.

Earlier this year, a couple of students preparing for competitive examinations raised the issue of lack of transparency in the functioning of the exam conducting body. They even demanded the then newly elected CM of the state to initiate probe into the examinations conducted by UPPSC during the years 2013 to 2016.
