On 28 Jan, 2015 a science exhibition was inaugurated by the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) at DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 15 Chandigarh. The exhibition witnessed participation of about 70 schools from Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. All schools came with exhibits on different themes, models and projects. Community health and environment, energy resources and their conservation and transport and waste management were the main themes being displayed at the exhibition.
Rakesh Sachdeva, regional CBSE counsellor and a school principal said, "Today science has become an integral part of our life. We cannot even think of leading the life without the discoveries of science. But it should be used in a constructive way only and not for devastation of any kind."
More than 100 models were submitted in the exhibition on different themes.
A panel of judges would select the best models. The exhibition would end by January 30. Around 15 models would be selected that will be part of national exhibitions.
The exhibition would be open to the general public on the concluding day.
