Bank Recruitment 2011: All the information about applying for the various post of Specialist Officers in Central Bank of India in the year 2011

Central Bank of India was established in 1911 and was the first Indian commercial bank which was wholly owned and managed by Indians. Central Bank of India holds a very prominent place among the Public Sector Banks on account of its network of 3656 branches and 178 extension counters at various centres throughout the country. It invites application from eligible candidates for recruitment to the various specialist officer post mentioned below.

Name of the post

  • IT Officer Specialist (JMG Scale I): 70 vacancies
  • Agriculture Finance Officer (JMG Scale I): 400 vacancies
  • Rajbhasha Adhikari (JMG Scale I): 20 vacancies
  • Law Officer (MMG Scale II): 34 vacancies
  • Security Officer (MMG Scale II): 33 vacancies

Important Dates

  • Opening date for online registration: 5 November 2011
  • Closing date for online registration (for all applicants): 25 November 2011
  • Last date to modify online application: 27 November 2011
  • Date for downloading call letters for written examination: 26 December 2011
  • Tentative date of Written Examination: 8 January 2012

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • IT Officer Specialist: BE/ B Tech or MSc (or Equivalent) Degree in Computer Science or Communication or Electronics with Computer Science as one of the subjects or MCS or MCA.
  • Agriculture Finance Officer: A Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/ Dairy Science/ Agri. Engineering/ Fishery Science/ Pisciculture/ Agri Marketing & Cooperation from recognized University.
  • Rajbhasha Adhikari: A minimum 2nd class post Graduate Degree in Hindi with English as a subject in degree level OR a Post Graduate degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as a subject in degree level. 2 years experience of translation in a full time post in any organization.
  • Law Officer: A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) with not less than 50% Marks. Additional qualification of Post Graduate Degree in Law (LLM). CAIIB/MBA may be considered in preference to other candidates. EXPERIENCE: 5 years Experience of practice at Bar or judicial service and/or Law Officer in the Legal Dept. of a reputed Bank or the Central/ State Government or of a Public Sector Undertaking with practice at Bar for a minimum period of three years.
  • Security Officer: An officer with 5 years commissioned service in the Army/Navy/Air Force or a Police Officer not below a rank of Asstt. SP/Deputy SP with 5 years' service OR Officers of comparable rank in para military forces with 5 years in service.

Age Limit

  • JMG Scale I: Minimum 21 years, Maximum 30 years
  • MMG Scale II: Minimum 21 years, Maximum 35 years

Application Fee: Application Fee of Rs 500 with intimation charges of Rs 50 will be charged from General and OBC candidates and only intimation charge of Rs 50 will be charged from SC/ ST/ PWD candidates.

Selection Procedure: Selection will be on the basis of Written Test and/or Group Discussions, Interview depending on the number of applications received for each post.

How to Apply   

  • Candidates are required to apply online only through website http://www.centralbankofindia.co.in/
  • Candidates must download a copy of Fee Payment Receipt from Bank's Website and deposit the Application Fees in any of the Bank's notified CBS branches.
  • Even if the Bank extends the date of On-line registration by one or two days, the valid dates of Fee Payment receipt (FPR) will not be changed.
  • Candidates should ensure that on deposit of fee, the branch issues to him/her a copy of FPR which should invariably mention under noted items viz., Journal number (7-10 digits) ii) Branch Name iii) Branch code number and iv) Date of deposit. & v) Name of the candidate.
  • The original receipt should be retained and produced at the time of written test.
  • Candidates should scan their photograph and signature and should fill in Online application including scanned photograph and signature in the Online Application Form and SUBMIT the form online.
  • Candidates should make a note of the System Generated Application Registration Number and Password.
  • After applying Online, candidates should take two (2) Print-Outs of the duly filled in Computerised System Generated Application Form.
  • The candidate must retain the photocopy of the Application print out of online application & Fee receipt for further reference. The print out of the on-line application will have invariably to be submitted at the time of GD/Interview.
