Central Universities Ready to Embrace Choice Based Credit System

    The much speculated and controversial Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) has finally received a positive nod from all Central Universities. CBCS would be rolled out from the upcoming academic session.

    While Benaras Hindu University is planning to implement it in phases Delhi University agreed to it unanimously in the crucial meeting, on Tuesday, chaired by VS Oberoi in the absence of HRD Minister.

    The meeting came against the backdrop of Protests, organized by section of teachers and students of Delhi University, questioning the legality of the program and rejecting the proposed reform citing it to be a crackdown on varsities’ economy.

    It has been stated that out of 39 central universities, 37 and 18 universities have already introduced CBCS at post graduate and under graduate level, respectively.
