Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission State Service Main (Written) Exam 2012 is going to be conducted from 22 March 2014. The exam will consist of seven papers.

In the Essay paper, the candidates are required to write two essays of 100 marks each. The paper can be attempted in Hindi or English language as chosen by the candidate while filling up the application form. The topics for first essay will be related to the problems of National level, while the topics for second essay will be related to the problems of Chhattisgarh state. Three options for the topic would be given for each essay. The candidate has to write essay on any one of the options provided for that question.

These topics for essay could be related to the Health problems, Socio-economic issues, Moral issues of the society, problems related to the Administrative system, Governance issues, Development related problems, Environment related problems, and other such problems of the state and national level.

The candidate should first explain the problem given in the topic, and then discuss its present status, along with providing some data for the same and then suggest some appropriate and practical solutions for the problem.

The essay should begin with an introduction and background of the problem. After that the candidate should explain the problem in detail by giving some data and examples from recent time. Then the candidate can mention some steps that have been taken by the Government and society to tackle the problem. In the end, some suggestions regarding solution or the problem must be given.

The beginning and the ending of an essay should be catchy and crisp. The candidates can incorporate some interesting quotes and phrases to make the essay different from others. But make sure that these quotes are relevant to the topic. You must try to give a balanced view of the topic in the essay, without showing any biases regarding the issue.

The word limit is not given, so the candidate has the discretion to write in suitable number of words so as to present the ideas in a comprehensive, effective and orderly manner.
