Delhi University to change admission procedure from the academic session 2011-12

The admission procedure of DU is all set to change this year. The students will not have to fill in the centralized admission forms as the colleges will declare their individual cut offs and students who fulfill the criteria will be directly able to seek admission in the colleges.  The cutoffs may be released after June 15 while the notification is expected this week.

DU had to process around 1.2 lakh centralized forms last year and the new process is expected to save time which could be beneficial for the new semester system.

DU officials had announced this decision to the principals of constituent colleges after a 3 hour meeting on Monday. The principals of certain colleges also raised questions on the feasibility of this process as colleges might not get the cutoffs right.

In any case the students will not have to fill the OMR forms this year.
