Question: I am in my BCom, 2nd year and is interested in giving bank PO exam. Please provide me some information on these examinations.
Answer: The Banking Service Recruitment Boards (BSRB) has been abolished to cut down on the time and cost of recruitment for bank. Hence, the Nationalised Banks directly conducts recruitment of Probationary Officers. The banks publish advertisements for appointment to the Officer's cadre that are published in all leading dailies and Employment News.
Any candidate who has a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Government of India can appear in these exams.
The age limit is generally between 21 and 30 years for general categories however, as per the reservations by Government of India, the age limits may vary. For example, the upper age limit is relaxed in the case of SC/ ST and OBC candidates, ex-servicemen/ commissioned officers and officers of regional rural banks, subject to certain specifications.
The other details on the pattern of exam and selection procedure are notified in the bank recruitment notification. You can also search about exams for different banks on our website www.jagranjosh.com
