Delhi University declared its sixth cut off list on Thursday ie 14 July 2011 for admission to undergraduate courses for OBC candidates only. It finally closed admission in this prestigious university for general category students on 13 July 2011. The sixth cut off list is an effort by the colleges to fill the sanctioned number of OBC seats.
On 12 July 2011, Delhi University issued a notification restricting its constituent colleges from converting reserved category seats and making them available to students in the unreserved category. The step was taken to maintain a healthy number of OBC students in Delhi University.
If the seats remain vacant in the 6th cut off list, a seventh cut-off list might be released to fill seats for OBC category students. However, the University will stick to its rules which stipulate that such students can be given a relaxation of 10 percent from the last cut off announced for admission to unreserved seats.
