The marathon registration process for admission in the undergraduate programmes in Delhi University (DU) has finally come to an end on Monday. The offline and online sale/registration and submission of fees payment would close at 3pm and 12 midnight respectively on Monday.
For the students though the wait is not over. They now have to wait for the cutoff to get released which takes quite a lot of time. The first cutoff is expected to come out on June 25 by the University. There are sports and ECA trials which would now commence from June 18. For ECA and sports category admissions as well, the sale and submission of forms would stop on Monday. The two colleges under the DU, which now follow their own admission policies, St. Stephan’s and Jesus and Mary would also end their submission and sales by Monday.
According to Deputy Dean of Student’s welfare, Gurpreet Singh Tutleja of DU, “Students are advised to reach early if they are coming for offline forms to avoid last minute rush and compete the process by 3pm. Since ECA and sports registration is also coming to an end on Monday, students are advised to start early if they have multiple colleges to visit.”
According to statistics received by the end of Sunday there are 3, 22,695 students who have registered themselves online of which 2, 12,297 students have successfully deposited their fees. Along with the online forms there were total of 67,683 centralized OMR forms sold of which 51,437 were received successfully.
The three new courses which were introduced from this academic year, Bachelor in Management Studies, BA in Business economics and Bachelor in Financial and investment analysis conducted their joint entrance examination on Saturday to select candidates for the very first batch.
