The Central Board of Trustees of EPFO is planning to hire a professional agency for handling its presence on Facebook and Twitter. The step has been taken to avoid communication gaps. The Board will consider this proposal on 07 July.
According to a senior official of Labour Ministry, the proposal has been decided after the incident of Bengaluru violence recently following the EPFO’s order on tightening the rules for withdrawing provident fund. The proposal of hiring a social media agency is on the agenda of the meeting of Central Board of Trustees scheduled on 07 July. Organisational restructuring of EPFO and appointment of Joint Secretary Level officer for each State are on the agenda as well.
The social media agency will be hired for an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore per annum and the cost will be equally distributed by ESIC, EPFO and Labour Ministry.
