Her Personal & Academic Profile

Ms Niluufer Jain was born in Mauritius and brought-up in Delhi. She went to a convent school followed by her business management studies. She started her professional life with an international telecom research firm, specializing in sales and research. After that, she embarked upon her entrepreneurial journey and since then it has been a roller coaster ride. In the process, she has also discovered several hidden facets of her own personality. Her entrepreneurial spirit has stirred several passion areas, which she earlier didn’t know about or about which she would panache for.

Picking Career Counselling as a Career

She started her professional life with an International Telecom Research Firm and worked with its start-up wing for about 3 years. There she learned a lot about marketing, sales and international sales. The key learning from her professional life was to learn about building a company from a scratch. Post that, she started with her own venture in the education sector i.e. a consulting firm which was focused on study abroad.

As part of her first venture, she travelled across India, including a few remote areas, meeting parents and students. She then realized that a lot of students in India base their career decision as per the societal expectations. Another major problem she discovered was lack of awareness among the students regarding different career options. Even among those students who were aware of different career options, they had accepted engineering and medical as financially and emotionally stable career options. Another interesting development that she found was, working professionals who had just started their jobs also needed help to develop a career strategy and plan for their future. This is when she decided to take up career counselling as per life’s passion.
