    Goa Institute of Management is one of the top management colleges in India. The institute is affiliated to Goa University. GIM offers Diploma courses in Management, which includes PGDM, PGDM (BDA), PGDM (HCM) and PGDM (Part Time) in various disciplines. Candidates interested in seeking admission to GIM’s PGDM Programme will have to qualify in CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT exam. Final selection of candidates is based on the overall performance in management entrance exam and interview.

    Goa Institute of Management: Programmes Offered    

    The flagship programme offered by GIM is Post Graduate Diploma in Management. It’s a 2 year full-time management programme that has got NBA Accreditation and is equivalent with Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree of an Indian University. The various specializations offered in this course are Finance & Accounting, General Management & Economics, IT & Operations, Marketing and OB & HRM. Besides, the flagship programme, other courses offered by the institute are as follows:

    • PGDM (HCM) (Health Care Management)
    • PGDM (BDA) (Big Data Analytics)
    • PGDM PART TIME
    • MDP (Management Development Programme)

    Goa Institute of Management: Programme-wise Eligibility Criteria        

    • PGDM – Candidates must have a Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
    • PGDM (HCM) - Candidates must have a graduation degree in healthcare such as BDS, MBBS, Biotech, B.Pharm, B.Sc. (Microbiology, Biochemistry etc.), etc. 
    • PGDM (BDA) - Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
    • PGDM (PartTime) - Bachelor’ degree with 50% marks in aggregate with 2 years of work experience in the related field is required.

    Goa Institute of Management: Admission Process

    Candidates who wish to take admission to GIM’s PGDM Programme need to take the XAT 2019 or CMAT 2019 Exam or should have taken the CAT 2017 Exam. GIM shortlist candidates on the basis of their CAT/CMAT/XAT Scores, and are called for Personal Interview. Thereafter, based on the overall performance of candidates in management entrance exam and personal interview, the final merit list will be prepared.

    Goa Institute of Management: Admission Cutoffs

    This year, the expected cutoff of GIM will be as follows:

    CAT

    85-87 percentile

    XAT

    80-82 percentile

    CMAT

    90-97 percentile

    Several factors affecting CMAT cutoff 2018 are mentioned below:

    • Number of aspirants appearing for the test
    • Seat availability
    • Level of difficulty of the entrance exam
    • Average marks scored on CMAT exam
    • Previous years’ trend

    Goa Institute of Management: Admission Shortlisting Criteria

    Shortlisting of candidates for PGDM will be based on XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score of candidates. In addition, other factors such as career achievements, profile (qualification, past academic performance, and work experience), academic qualification and extracurricular record will also be taken into consideration while shortlisting candidates for Personal Interview Round. Shortlisted candidates who have qualified for achiever’s round will be eligible for scholarships.

    Goa Institute of Management: Final Admission Selection Criteria

    The final selection shall be made on objective and leadership assessment (40% weightage), past academic performance (15% weightage), work experience, if any (10% weightage), performance in face-to-face evaluation (30% weightage), and composite diversity index (5% weightage). This is subject to obtaining desired proficiency in written communication and minimum score for each evaluation component, except work experience. The objective assessment shall be based on XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score and the leadership assessment shall be based on Individual Assessment in Group Activity (interaction with peers and evaluators).
