Vacancy Details
1. Fixed Term Research Associates
Specialization areas: any one: Chemistry (Physical / Organic / Inorganic), Catalysis, Adsorption Technology, Electro Chemistry, Biotechnology/ Microbiology, Process Engineering/ Chemical Engineering, CFD Modelling, Molecular Biology/ Bioinformatics, Related Areas
Duration of Assignment: initially for a period of one year, extend-able by one more year based on project requirement;
Stipend: Rs.50000 to Rs.60000 per month
Age Limit: 32 years or below (as on 12 March 2014)
Qualifications: Ph.D in Organic Chemistry/ Catalysis/ Inorganic Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering/ Bio-technology/ Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Adsorption Technology/ Electro Chemistry/ CFD Modelling or related areas OR M. Tech in Chemical Engineering/ Bio-technology or related area and 1 year post M.Tech experience.
Candidates who have submitted Ph.D. thesis in mentioned subjects/ disciplines are also eligible to apply.
2. Fixed Term Project Assistants
Duration of Assignment: initially for a period of one year, extend-able by 2 more years based on project requirement;
Stipend: Rs.30000 to Rs.40000 per month
Age Limit: 28 years or below (as on 12 March 2014)
Qualifications: M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Bio-technology/ Micro-biology/ related areas OR B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering/ Bio-technology/ Bio-informatics/ related areas;
[NOTE: Upper age limit is relax-able by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates, by 3 years for OBC (NC layer) candidates and by 10 years for PWD candidates]
Selection Procedure
Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the screening test followed by personal interview of those qualifying the screening test.
Only candidates shortlisted by the Selection Committee will be called for the screening test.
The intimation for interview will be given through email/cell phone/landline only.
On selection, candidates will be engaged for a period of one year only, which may be extended for one or two years based on the project requirement. Selected candidates will be posted either at Bangalore or any other location at the discretion of HPCL.
Candidate called for interview will have to produce printout of the online submitted application.
Travel Allowance: Candidates shortlisted for interview for RA would be reimbursed AC II-tier train fare.

A soft copy of the detailed CV including brief description of Ph.D. topic should be uploaded along with the Online Application Form.
On successful submission of the online application, a Unique 12 Digit Reference No. / Application ID along with the completed application form will be generated by the system. Candidates should take a print out of submitted application form, complete the remaining formalities, and retain it for future reference.
In case of RA, Application received after 9 July 2014 will be considered after three months.
The Reference No./ Application ID will be required during all future correspondences.
