ICSE Class 10 English Literature (Paper 2) Format 2025

The ICSE Class 10 English Question Paper 2025 will be for 80 marks with a duration of 2 hours. 20 marks will be calculated on the basis of Internal Assessment.

Internal Assessment: English Literature (Paper 2)

Internal assessment of 20 marks will be conducted for ICSE English Literature in English. The assessment will be conducted jointly by the subject teacher and the external examiner. Assessment for paper 2 will be conducted based on the following criteria:

Internal Assessment for Paper 2: The  assignments to  be  evaluated  by the subject teacher and by an external examiner independently. Two or three assignments of reasonable length are to be submitted in the course of the year. The maximum weightage of assignments evaluated by internal and external examiners will be as follows:

  • Practice writing narrative, descriptive, and expository essays
  • Practice writing within a time limit to get used to managing time during the exam.

  • Focus on essential topics such as tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, prepositions, conjunctions, and modals.
  • Practice exercises on sentence transformation, error spotting, and gap-filling.
  • Solve previous years’ question papers to understand the types of questions asked and the expected format of answers.
