What can be done to bridge the gap?

Way forward for SC/ST candidates

SC/ST candidates should not leave any opportunity in both academic and professional front when the government and IIM (autonomous body) in itself are extending full support to uplift their status. As per Prof. Kamble, SC/ST candidates must give up on their orthodox mindset and should focus on grabbing the best possible opportunity coming their way. They should also concentrate in the prospects of taking up entrepreneurship as a major career move. Even when the SC/ST members get a chance to join the board of governors in IIMs, they should not take a back foot. In fact, they must readily take benefit of these opportunities in their stride. This move from the IIMs will be perceived as a big step towards affirmative action.
