IIM Calcutta has completed the final placement drive for the outgoing batch in record two days. Termed as one of the finest B-schools in the country, IIM Calcutta has kept up its impeccable track record of registering 100% placements for the outgoing batch even this year. The IIM Calcutta saw many loyal recruiters return to the campus for the final placement 2018 session and many new recruiters also joined the fray this year. With a total of 481 offers being extended to the students, the IIM Calcutta Placement 2018 seems to have thrown up some interesting trends with regards to MBA hiring in India. Although, the B-school has refrained from announcing the highest salary offered, average salary and median salary for the IIM Calcutta Placement 2018, reports suggest that these numbers have also witnessed healthy growth this year.

Sector-wise Top Recruiters
As far as sector-wise breakup of offers is concerned, consulting emerged as the most dominant role during the IIM Calcutta final MBA placement 2018. It attracted a total of 27% of total offers i.e. nearly 130 offers. Top recruiters in this domain included the likes of Accenture, AT Kearney, Bain, BCG, McKinsey.
Finance and financial services has always been a strong domain as far as IIM Calcutta Placements are concerned and this year was no different. IIM Calcutta saw 23% offers being extended in the domain of finance. The top recruiters in this field were J P Morgan & Co, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Bessemer Venture Partners, Goldman Sachs and CitiBank.
In addition to this, other sectors such Marketing (16%), General Management (14%), Product Management and Operations (12%) and IT and Analytics (8%) also made their presence felt at the IIM Calcutta Placement 2018. This year also saw e-Commerce majors such as Amazon and Flipkart hire students from IIM Calcutta. Apart from this, other renowned recruiters included Microsoft, Uber, Star, Aditya Birla Group, EXL and others.
Bessemer Venture Partners - the oldest venture capital firm from the US also joined the campus placement process at IIM Calcutta.
The positive signs witnessed at the IIM Calcutta Placement 2018 clearly showcase the upward trend in MBA hiring in both domestic as well as international markets. Just like other top MBA colleges in India, IIM Calcutta Placement report has also shown that corporate hiring from top B-schools is on the rise and the downward spiral of 2016-2017 has ended.
