Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted every year for admissions in various MBA and PGDM Programs of all the 13 IIMs and many other prestigious B-Schools of India. Other than IIM Ahemdabad, IIM Banglore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Kashipur, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, IIM Raipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Shillong, IIM Tiruchirpalli and IIM Raipur there are many national and state level institutes who have agreed to take the CAT Scores for admissions.
This year CAT is being conducted and organized by IIM Kozhikode on behalf of all the IIMs.
Important Dates of CAT 2012:
Voucher Sale begins on: 30 July 2012
Voucher Sale ends on: 17 September 2012
Registration Begins on: 30 July 2012
Registration Ends on: 19 September 2012
Examination Date: 11 October 2012 to November 6 2012
Result Announcement Date: 9 January 2012
Eligibility Criteria for CAT 2012:
Candidates need to have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST Candidates).
Examination Structure Of CAT 2012:
CAT 2012 will have 2 sections:
- Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
- Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning
Each section will have 30 questions.
Application fee for CAT 2012:
- Rs. 800/- for SC/ST Candidates
- Rs. 1600/- for others
