Indian Railway when notified 90000 vacancies under Group C and D for Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician and Other posts, it was expected that a huge number of govt aspirants will be vying for these vacant posts. However, it has awestruck everyone as unidentified railway officials have claimed that the Indian railway has already received around 1.5 crore applications against 90000 vacancies and is further expected to cross 2 crores, as there is still a lot of time is remaining before the last date of application.
Indian railway in a bid to strengthen the safety infrastructure and to fill vacant posts under the soon to be commissioned freight corridor has notified 62907 vacancies for Group D and 27019 ALP & Technician and other posts. The last date for applying to the notified posts has been notified on 31 March 2018.
Aspirants should expect a much tougher competition and strict scrutiny as now they are expected to go through a series of examinations and test to get these jobs.
As per a leading daily a railway official was quoted as saying that a lot of applicants are overqualified for the jobs for which the minimum educational qualification is high school pass and ITI diploma. It should be noted that this is the largest number of job applications received by Indian railway till date.
