Railway Board: The Indian Railways, one of the largest employers in the country, has reviewed the eligibility criteria for Level-1 (Group D) posts and announced relaxations in its eligibility. The Board has taken the decision to relax the required educational qualifications. In the article below we have provided the revised eligibility criteria and the changes in the recruitment process.
Revised Eligibility Criteria for Level-1 Posts
Under the new norms as released by the railway board, the candidate with a class 10 pass is eligible to apply. Check the details below.
Class 10 Pass: Completion of secondary education from a recognised board.
ITI Diploma: A technical diploma from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI).
National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC): Certification granted by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
The changes made by the Railways supersede the previous requirement, which required candidates to be Class 10th pass and either have completed an ITI diploma or NAC certification.
From the relaxed eligibility criteria, a number of candidates will be eligible to apply for the announced vacancies, especially the candidates who come from economically weaker sections or rural areas who may lack access to higher technical qualifications.
