Israel granted three year post doctoral scholarships to sixty six Indian students to pursue research work in the best universities in the country.
The Indian students are selected from IIT Delhi, Osmania University, Delhi University, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai and other leading academic institutions in India.
These sixty six students will now travel to Israel and conduct research in the field of immunology, genetics, neurobiology, bio-informatics, computer sciences, law and economics.
The students would undertake research work at Israel’s leading universities that are , the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Tel Aviv University, Haifa University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, the Weizmann Institute of Science and the Open University of Israel.
The post-doctoral scholarship initiative was conceived during the visit to India of Israel's Finance Minister, Yuval Steinitz, in December 2011.
