The Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Delhi I, New Delhi invited applications for recruitment of sportspersons as Inspectors, Tax Assistants and Stenographer-Grade II on Temporary Basis. However, the posts are likely to be permanent. Selected candidates would be on probation for a period of two years.

Age Limit (as on 25 October 2012): (For all the three posts of Inspectors, Tax Assistants and Stenographer (Grade II))
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 27 years
[Age relaxed offered to meritorious sportspersons as per govt. rules: 5 years to Gen/OBC candidates; 10 years to SC/ST candidates; 8 years for Departmental candidates (Gen/OBC); 13 years for Departmental candidates (SC/ST)]
Educational Qualifications:
Inspectors: Degree from a govt. recognized University OR equivalent.
Tax Assistants: i) Degree from a govt. recognized University OR equivalent
ii) Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.
Stenographer Grade II: 12th pass or equivalent from a govt. recognized Board/University.
Sports Eligibility: Sportspersons having represented National/International competitions/tournaments in any of the games/sports mentioned: Archery; Athletics; Badminton; Basketball; Boxing; Chess; Cricket; Football; Golf; Gymnastics; Hockey; Kabaddi; Table Tennis; Tennis; Weight Lifting; Wrestling.
[Preference would be given to those who have represented the country at International competitions/tournaments]
Selection Procedure: Candidates would be shortlisted after the screening of the applications. Shortlisted candidates would be required to appear for:
• Ground/Proficiency Test (80% weight-age)
• Written Test (10% weight-age)
• Interview (10% weight-age)
Besides, shortlisted candidates will have to also clear the essential skills test mentioned:
• Dictation: 10 minutes @ 80 words per minute.
• Transcription (on Computers): 50 words per minute (English)
65 words per minute (Hindi)
How to Apply: Completely filled applications, in the prescribed format, along with copies of required documents should be sent to “The Additional Commissioner of Income Tax (Hqrs- Personnel), IIIrd floor, Central Revenues Building, I.P. Estate, New Delhi-110002” by post/by hand on or before 25/10/2012.
Envelope containing the application should be super-scribed “Application for the post of (Name of the post) under sports quota (Name of Sport)”.
