In order to give a thrust to the employment sector of the State, the Kerala government aims to create 25 lakh new jobs in leading sectors like IT, Biotechnology, tourism, etc.
Governor Justice P Sathasivam said a comprehensive IT policy will be brought out in next two months. The aim will be to create 10 lakh new jobs in IT, BT, Electronics and emerging areas. 15 lakh jobs will also be added in agriculture, construction, commerce and other small industries.
In addition to this he also said that the first phase of building of the Cyberpark in Kozhikode will be completed in this financial year. Financial and technological assistance will be provided to near about 1500 startups.
Other highlights of the speech includes, 1000 wi-fi hotspots to be made available to public, A-grade libraries, launch of m-keralam a centric e-governance application.
