The Maharashtra Public Service Commission conducted the State Services Preliminary Examination on 2nd February, 2014. The exam consisted of two papers: Paper I (General Studies) and Paper II (Aptitude test).
Here an analysis of Paper II question paper:
The paper consisted of 80 questions of objective type.
There were 8 comprehension passages that were translated in English as well as Marathi. These passages accounted for 37 questions in total.
Apart from these, there were 2 passages that were only in English and one passage was given only in Marathi.
The questions from logical reasoning section were mainly from topics like Series completion, Coding decoding, syllogism, and cubes.
The paper had few questions from Basic numeracy, mainly from Time, Speed, distance and Ratio and Proportion
There were 5 questions from Decision making and problem solving section.
