Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra Police Second Class Master and First Class Engine Driver Jobs:

Educational Qualification:

  • Second Class Master:
  1. Should posses the requisite Certificate of Competency as Second Class Master as per sub- section (1) of section 21 of the Inland Vessels Act, 1917 with minimum two years of experience as Second Class Master (226-565 BHP Engines); OR
  2. Should posses Navigation Watch keeping Officer (NWKO) Near Coastal Voyage (NCV); OR
  3. Should posses Higher Certificate of Competency awarded by the D.G. of Shipping, Govt. of India under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958; OR
  4. Ex-servicemen from Indian Navy / Coast Guard having appropriate experience of manning of boats.
  • First Class Engine Driver:
  1. Should posses the requisite certificate as First Class Engine Driver as per sub-section (1) of Section 21 of the Inland Vessels Act, 1917 and has by virtue of such certificate, served as an engine-driver of an Inland (mechanically propelled) vessel having engines of 226 of 565 BHP for minimum two years, within the meaning of section 26; OR
  2. Should posses Sea Going Engine Driver Certificate as Marine Engineer Officer (MEO) Class IV Near Coastal Voyage (NCV) granted under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958; OR
  3. Should posses higher certificate of competency awarded by D.G. of Shipping, Govt. of India under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958. OR
  4. Ex-servicemen from Indian Navy / Coast Guard having appropriate experience of repairs and maintenance of boats.

Selection Procedure for Maharashtra Police Second Class Master and First Class Engine Driver Jobs:

The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of the interview/exam conducted by the commission.
