Self doubt
This is perhaps one of the greatest fears that we have among ourselves. We start to doubt ourselves. As the date for the examination approaches, there is a growing fear within us that we will not be able to complete the syllabus, or we are not yet prepared for the examination. Such self doubting questions keep popping up time and again and send our own inbuilt confidence for a toss.
The simple fix to this could be to start believing and practicing positive activities. One needs to continuous and concisely believe that he can achieve higher goals. He needs to remind himself that if he has accomplished other activities then cracking an examination is not all that tough for him. One will be astonished to see how much he can progress by simply believing in himself. However, if at times external help is required then one should not shy from asking help from a friend who genuinely is able to partake positive counseling.
Anxiety
This is another common emotion felt by many while actually on the road to success. We become extremely stressed which leads to us being anxious. Anxiety can in the long run affect us negatively. It’s characterized by increased heart rates, headache and even bouts of nausea. Anxiety also hinders us from studying in a continuous and productive manner
However cryptic the problem may sound the solution is equally easy to comprehend. One can start to meditate to calm his nerves. One should realize anxiety is nothing but heightened stress levels. Hence, if one is able to avoid stress there will be no room for anxiety. And to avoid stress one can build confidence in himself, thorough bringing about belief in himself, through starting early to prepare. Soothing music can be played to calm the mind. One can also break down his study schedule to smaller segments to avoid being over whelmed.
Fear
Often when we start to prepare for a particular examination, the extremes come into our head. We start to play in situations that are most likely to happen. We mostly start to imagine the worst. Our first and foremost question is what next after the examination. What happens to us if we don’t make it to the cut off, what happens then? This altogether scary notion brought about by fear is a major study distraction. At times this entire thought can take an all new turn and even bring about suicidal tendencies and this should be greatly avoided.
A biological approach can be somewhat dealt out to this. When a person feels fear there is an adrenaline increase in his body which triggers the fear. If this extra adrenaline can be channeled to some good use then you no longer will one experience fear. One can opt for regular exercises or even a run to use up this extra adrenaline making one no longer feel afraid to sit and study aloft of the circumstances.
Anger
Anger can be an extremely destructive emotion and can shorten your attention span in spades. Anger about lack of confidence, unable to memorize quickly, lower grades or some family problem can and will not allow you to prepare
Well, natural problems like this need a little bit of ‘me time’ to permanently get rid of. One can write down the problems that has been bothering him and then see it all been dealt with to the best before sitting to study. One will be amused how easily simply writing these problems down will give you easy results and make you feel light. One must get over pressing matters before actually sitting to study, this way he will be able to study with his entire potential.
Ego
This is another tricky situation and many of us succumb to it. When a person gets used to succeeding in all the tests he feels that there is nothing that can stop him and there is nothing new for him to learn. His dedication lacks his full potential. This is another stance where confidence crosses the thin line and converts to over confidence and we all know that is a bad thing.
Well, one must simply learn to be confident; however he should not be over confident. When a person becomes egoistic and practically stops preparing for his examinations he loses the ability to learn new things. One should take a few minutes all by him and se that there is no end to learning and one should simply dust off the ego and be open to infinite wisdom.
