NCERT Lab Manual: General Laboratory Rules
There are certain rules that students should follow while attending the science laboratory. As per NCERT:
- Prepare yourself in advance for the experiment that needs to be conducted.
- Students should carry their practical notebook, lab manual, geometry box, and other stationery to the practical class.
- Wearing lab coats is mandatory.
- Students follow strictly the instructions given by the teacher and perform the experiments carefully at the allotted places.
- All equipment, such as a microscope, physical balance, measuring items, and glassware, must be handled with care after understanding their functions.
- Labels on the reagent bottles should be read carefully before use. The reagent bottles and chemicals must be kept in their specified places after use.
- Do not eat or drink in the laboratory. Always wash your hands after the laboratory class.
- Be acquainted with the handling of first aid kits and fire extinguishers.
- In case of any accident, injury, or breakage of apparatus, report it to the teacher immediately.
