Northern Railway (NR) issued notification for forming a panel for recruitment of sports persons (male only) from 4 sports disciplines to fill 10 vacancies in NR Head quarters Divisions against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement). Pay Scale: PB-1 of Rs. 5200 -20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 1800
Educational Qualifications: Minimum 10th pass or ITI or equivalent.
Sports Norms: Represented the country in any of the Category- C Championship / events OR secured at least 3rd position
in Federation Cup Championship (Senior Category). OR Represented a State of equivalent Unit, except on Marathon and Cross Country, in Senior / Youth / Junior National Chamionships OR at least 3rd position in Senior State Championships for all Units and Districts of the State.
Age Limit: (as on 1 January 2014)
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 25 years
Selection Procedure: Candidates will be considered for appointment on the basis of their performance in trials, Interview - assessment of sports achievements, educational qualifications, general intelligence / personality etc.
Trials will be conducted to assess candidate’s sports performance / suitability for the team. Candidates found fit after Trials will only be considered for next stage of recruitment process – Interview / Document Verification.
Final selection would depend on selected Sportspersons fulfilling the minimum medical norms for the post, for which he is being appointed.
Candidates must bring all documents in Original and a set of attested photo copies on the day of trial and Interview else they
will not be allowed to appear in the Trial / Interview.
Date, venue and time for Trial will be intimated to the eligible candidates.
Examination Fee: Non-refundable Fees of Rs. 40 have to be paid in the form of crossed Demand Draft / Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of “Sports Officer / HQ, Headquarter Sports Association, Northern Railway, New Delhi”, payable at New Delhi.
SC / ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees.
How to Apply: Eligible interested sports persons should send their applications, in the prescribed format, along with copies of relevant enclosures by ordinary post to “The Sports Officer / Headquarter Sports Association, Northern Railway, Baroda House, New Delhi, Room No 7 – G, Annexe – II Building, Baroda House, New Delhi – 110 001” so as to reach the concerned address on or before the prescribed last date.
On the envelope containing the application, candidates should super-scribe “400E / 18 / Sports / Rec. HQ Div. Grade pay 1800 / 2013 – 14 & name of the event for which application is being sent should be written in a bracket.”
Candidate should clearly indicate specific sports discipline, event & position as mentioned in the notification, in the application form.
