The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University (BVDU), Pune, signed an agreement to launch a two-year MBA programme in financial markets and a three-year BBA course (Bachelors in Business Administration) in financial markets, starting August 2012. The agreement was signed on 12 July 2012.This agreement is unique primarily because of two reasons, first that these programs are being launched in Maharastra for the very first time and second that for the first time again, these courses are being initiated in a deemed university.
Around thirty subjects would be taught in the MBA and the BBA courses, in which, around fourteen papers in the MBA segment would be offered by the National Stock Exchange. BBA students would also study around eight papers on financial markets offered by the NSE. The course would include topics and subjects such as, cash market and derivatives, mutual funds, commodity market operations, surveillance in stock exchanges etc.
After a student successfully finishes with the course, they shall get degrees from the university and a certification from NSE. NSE is all set to train the faculty of all affiliated colleges and institutions of BVDU and also provide a panel of industry moguls and professionals, who would deliver guest lecturers in the colleges.
The pre requisite to get admission in the MBA and the BBA courses , for graduates and higher secondary school students is to sit for an entrance examination after they get a minimum of fifty percent marks .For post graduate students , one should have a minimum of a fifty percent in the bachelorette exams, same goes for students going for the undergraduate course, they must have a minimum of a fifty percentage in the class 12th.
Following this step, NSE and the Bharati Vidyapeeth plans to further introduce similar courses in colleges affiliated to the BVDU in Delhi and other cities in India.
