RRB ALP 2024 Age Limit: Ministry of Railways, while posting on X (formerly Twitter), has announced the relaxation of 3 years in the maximum age limit of the ongoing applications of RRB Assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs). The relaxation in age limit will give a relief to the candidates who have crossed the age and not got the opportunity of recruitment due to COVID pandemic
RRB ALP Age Relaxation Official Notice
The official notice released by the Ministry of Railways is as follows:
“To give relief to many candidates who may have become over-aged and have missed the opportunity to appear in recruitment in railways due to the COVID pandemic, it has been decided to provide age relaxation of three (3) years over and above the prescribed upper age limit mentioned in the notification for recruitment to the post of Assistant Loco Pilot published under CEN 01/2024 as a one-time measure.”

RRB ALP Age Limit
To be eligible to apply for the RRB ALP 2024 exam, candidates must be at least 18 years old and not older than 33 years old (as per the new notice released). It is important for applicants to remember that the age they enter on their application form needs to match the one on their matriculation certificate, SSC certificate, or equivalent document and fulfil all the RRB ALP eligibility criteria. The cutoff date to measure age is July 1, 2024.

Note:
- If a candidate is eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground, he/she will get the maximum amongst the relaxations for which he/she is eligible (not cumulative).
- SC, ST and OBC (NCL) candidates applying against UR vacancies will not get any age relaxation.
RRB ALP Online Application 2024
The RRB ALP online application process began on January 20, 2024. Candidates with a relaxed age can apply online starting January 31, 2024, from 12 pm onwards. The application fees are as follows: Rs 500 for the unreserved and OBC categories, and Rs 250 for the reserved category. The last date to fill out the application form is February 19.
