SSC CHSL Tier-II Exam was conducted on 15th July 2018 in Pen & Paper Mode. It was a descriptive paper consisting of two sections – Letter and Essay Writing. Both the sections were of 50 marks each and the total time duration of exam was 1 hour.

Exam Analysis of the SSC CHSL Tier-II Descriptive Paper

Descriptive Paper tests the candidates’ writing ability alongwith how you construct your ideas and opinions on certain topics. So let’s take a look at the questions asked in this descriptive exam:

  • Letter Writing: (50 Marks)

You are Mahima/Jaspreet, a resident of Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Write a letter in 150 words to your younger brother Tinku, convincing him that if he/she wants to build a good career for himself/herself, then he/she should leave all the things that are distracting him/ her from their goal and suggest him/ her to focus on his/her studies only.

  • Essay Writing: (50 Marks)

Write an Essay on “Old Age & Social Security” in 250 words

 

Highlights of the SSC CHSL Tier-II Descriptive Paper

  • No choice was given and candidates need to answer for both questions.
  • Candidates had to write the paper either in Hindi or in English.
  • A paper written in Hindi and Part in English will not be evaluated.
  • Exam was of 1 hour time duration from 11 AM to 12 Noon (only one shift).
  • Both black/blue pens were allowed in the exam centre.
  • Answer sheet were given to students consisting of 12 pages and each page consisted of four columns/ boxes and 14 rows.
  • Strict instructions were given to follow the word limit and candidates were allowed to exceed it only by 10%.


Important Points to Remember after SSC CHSL Tier-II Exam

Candidates who appeared in the SSC CHSL Tier-II must have a look at the below points for further selection:

  • The minimum qualifying marks for the descriptive paper will be 33%.
  • The marks of the descriptive paper will be included with Tier I exam to decide the merit list of successful candidates.
