SSC JHT 2017: Age limit & relaxation criteria

SSC JHT 2017SSC has declared its recruitment for Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak examination  and started accepting online application from 15thApril, 2017 till 5thMay, 2017. The online examination for Paper-I will be conducted on 15thJune 2017 and Paper-II which will be offline & conducted on the same day.

Before applying online, you must know about the upper permissible age limit and the relaxation criteria for the offered posts.  

  1. Age Limit: - Maximum 30 years as on 01.01.2017
  2. Date of birth will be considered the same as it was recorded in the matriculation certificate or equivalent issued by the respective authority.

If you are exceeding the prescribed age limit and come under the following category mentioned in the table given below, then you are eligible or claim age relaxation up to the mentioned amount of time.

03 years for Unreserved/General, 06 years for OBC and 08 years for SC/ST after deduction of military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date


Central Govt. Civilian Employees who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on Closing date

05 years for Unreserved/General,

08 years for OBC,

10 years for SC/ST


Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir

05 years for Unreserved/General,

08 years for OBC,

10 years for SC/ST


Defense Personnel disabled in any foreign operation or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof

05 years for Unreserved/General,

08 years for OBC,

10 years for SC/ST

As the above terms contains the caste based relaxations. Hence, only those candidates, who will present their caste certificates before the respective selection panel, are credited with the respective age relaxation. The caste certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format is valid only.

If anyone fail to do so, then his candidature will be subjected to cancellation and if considered then it will be counted under unreserved category.
