SSC JHT Eligibility 2024
The Staff Selection Commission conducts a competitive Computer-Based Examination for Group B Non-Gazetted posts, including Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Senior Translator, across various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India. The SSC JHT notification was released on August 2.
Candidates must ensure that their application form accurately reflects the SSC JHT eligibility criteria. Generally, candidates with a master’s degree who are at least 18 years old can apply for the SSC JHT 2024 recruitment. While there is no specific reservation for the Ex-Serviceman (ESM) category for these Group B posts, ESM candidates are eligible for age relaxation in accordance with existing Government Orders.
SSC JHT Age Limit: Upper & Lower Age
The SSC JHT Age Limit is an important element of the eligibility criteria. The minimum age of the candidates must be 18 years when applying for SSC JHT recruitment 2024. What is SSC JHT Age Relaxation?

SSC JHT Eligibility 2024: Nationality
Apart from knowing the SSC JHT Eligibility, candidates must learn about their nationality before filling out the online form. A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India
SSC JHT Eligibility-Physically Handicapped Candidates
- In the case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA) and cerebral palsy, the scribe facility is given, if desired by the candidate.
- The facility of scribe will also be provided to PwD candidates having disability of less than 40% and having difficulty in writing.
- In the case of the remaining categories of persons with benchmark disabilities, the provision of a scribe is available on submission of a certificate at the time of examination to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitations to write. A scribe is essential to write the examination on his/ her behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government health care institution as per proforma.
- The facility of scribe/ passage reader will be offered to a PwBD/PwD candidate only if he/she has opted for the same in the online application form.
- In case the candidate opts for their own scribe, the qualification of the scribe should be one step below the qualification of the candidate attempting the examination.
