The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will soon release the SSC Stenographer Notification 2025 on its official website. As per the SSC exam calendar, the notification is scheduled to be released today, with the registration process commencing from June 5th to 26th. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in. To be eligible for the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Exam, candidates must be Indian citizens aged between 18 to 30 years. Additionally, they should have passed class 12th from a recognised board. Applicants who do not meet any of the prescribed eligibility parameters will not be permitted to appear for the examination.

SSC Steno age limit for Grade C and D posts defines the candidates’ age group who can apply for the exam. As per the official notification, the age limit criteria differs for Grade C and Grade D posts.
- For Grade C posts: The minimum age limit is 18 years. However, the maximum age limit is capped at 30 years.
- For Grade D posts: The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 27 years.
The commission mentions the date calculating the age limit in the official notification. Candidates must ensure that they fall within the specified age range to be considered eligible for the exam.

The commission provides age relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government rules.

SSC Stenographer Qualifications
It is another important parameter that candidates need to meet to fulfil the SSC Steno Eligibility Criteria. To appear for SSC Steno Grade C and D Exam 2025, candidates must have passed 12th standard (Intermediate) or an equivalent exam from a recognised board or university. It is important to note that they should possess class 12th passing certificate before the closing date of the application form.
Additionally, they must possess the required stenography skills in either Hindi or English, as per the post they are applying for. The shorthand speed and typing criteria will be tested in the skill test stage.
SSC Stenographer Eligibility: Number of Attempts
There is no such limit to the number of attempts for the SSC Steno exam. Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they want, as long as they fulfil the eligibility criteria.
