Araddhana and Nidhi started off with a seed capital of Rs 75 lakh and now the turnover of their business is 25 crore. They prepare students for entrance in offshore business schools
In 1998, when Nidhi Modi and her sister Araddhna Mahna decided to study abroad, their preparation was without any guidance. But just that was not enough to help them ace the Herculean entrance tests. Their future in the best business schools was hanging in the middle due to lack of good preparatory schools in the country. But like any other leader, they came back with business degrees and took it on themselves to come up with an institute that prepared students facing such problems.
"Tests such as the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT), Graduation Record Examination (GRE) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), require aspirants to be thorough with the subject and need additional preparation apart from that done at home. So when we came back, we started our own preparatory school," says Modi, executive director, Manya Epo Private Ltd.
She ventured into the project with her sister and invested Rs 75 lakh and today runs a company that generates a turnover of Rs 25 crore per annum. "Our basic objective was to help students in a way that they shall not face the similar problems which we did. At Manya EPO, we prepare students for their written tests as well an interviews. Even though we were inexperienced in establishing a business, we saw a quick learning curve in the industry and there was scope to expand our faculty base and include more experienced people," says Modi. With an eight year experience in the academic business, these young entrepreneurs are determined to churn out the best brains in the business.
