The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board will be conducting the ARS and NET examination in February 2013. The primary objective of these two exams is for determining eligibility for Lecturer/ Assistant Professor and for appointment of candidates as Scientists in Agriculture Research Service of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). While Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Exam will be held once in a year; National Eligibility Test (NET) will be conducted twice in a year.
While NET will be conducted in 55 disciplines; ARS (Prelims) will be conducted in 36 disciplines at 33 centres across the nation followed by ARS (Mains) in the month of June and Viva-Voce. The syllabus for both ARS and NET examination will be the same. The detailed syllabus of disciplines is available against each discipline in the following list:
