A competitive examination for recruitment of candidates for Indian Forest Service (IFS) will be conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) from 14 July 2012. The Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination will be held across 42 centres across India for filling 85 vacancies.

The competitive examination for the Indian Forest Service comprises of the following.

(A) The Written Examination consisting of the following papers:-

Paper I

General English

300 marks

Paper II

General Knowledge

300 marks

Paper III
Paper IV
Paper V
Paper VI

Any two subjects to be selected from the list of optional Subjects mentioned in the notification. Each subject will have two papers.

200 marks

(B) Interview for Personality Test of such candidates as may be called by the Commission (Maximum marks: 300 marks)
