Debaditya Pramanik has topped the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) engineering, architecture and pharmacy entrance exam by securing rank 1. The results for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) were announced on June 06, 2017 as rank card.
Debaditya Pramanik is a gold medallist in International Physics Olympiad hence there is no surprise that he marched ahead of one lakh candidates in the fray. Among the top 10 WBJEE 2017 qualifiers, six are from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), say the sources.
Also, 47% of eligible and qualified candidates belong to CBSE while 26% belong to West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE). Bihar and ISC Board make up 13% and 9% of qualified candidates respectively and the weightage of other boards is 5%.
Since the results are out, WBJEEB will conduct the counselling of the exam online for WBJEE and JEE Main 2017 qualifiers. Board will fill almost 35,018 seats in 104 engineering colleges and 11229 seats in 1085 pharmacy institutes.
WBJEE 2017 Rank would be the basis of seat allotment in the counselling round. GMR will be considered for engineering admission whereas for pharmacy admissions PMR will be used.
