West Bengal Public Service Commission invites application from eligible candidates for the various posts mentioned below for recruitment in various departments.

  • Inspector of Factories (Chemical): 4 posts
  • District Library Officer: 1 post
  • Assistant Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical): 8 posts
  • Assistant Engineer (Agri-Irrigation): 16 posts: 80 vacancies

Eligibility Criteria for Recruitment in West Bengal PSC

Educational Qualification

  • Inspector of Factories (Chemical): Degree in Engineering in the related field + 5 years experience for Inspector of Factories (Chemical)
  • District Library Officer: Masters degree in Library Science/ Degree in any discipline with Diploma in Library Science
  • Assistant Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical/ Agri-Irrigation): Degree in Engineering in the related field+ 1 year experience

Age Limit (as on 1 August 2010): Maximum 35 years (for Inspector of Factories (Chemical) & District Library Officer); Maximum 32 years (Assistant Engineer)

Selection Procedure for Recruitment in West Bengal PSC: Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Engineer will be selected on the basis of a competitive examination followed by an interview.

How to Apply for Recruitment in West Bengal PSC: Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format by Speed Post/ Registered post along with prescribed documents to ‘Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, 161-A, S.P. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata – 700026’.

Application Fee: Application fee for General and OBC category candidates is Rs 210 and no fee will be charged from SC/ ST candidates of West Bengal and PWD candidates. The fee should be paid through Indian Postal Order (IPO) payable to GPO, Kolkata. The IPO should be crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”.
