Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination, TNBSE has conducted 10th Class Examination 2014 on examination session month April 2014 on various examination centers of Tamil Nadu State in India. There are total of 10,38,876 candidates or students can appeared for the Tamil Nadu SSLC examinations 2014. The Tamil Nadu SSLC examination 2014 were held in the month of March wherein 10, 50, 000 students participated. In the year 2013, girls performed better than boys, where the overall pass percentage of the students reached 88.1 per cent. Tamil Nadu State Education board is set to announce the SSLC April 2014 exam results on Friday (May 23). The Tamil Nadu SSLC exam results 2014 will be published online on Friday at 10.00hrs.

The Government of Tamil Nadu have constituted a new Board for School Examination know Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination by merging the existing two separate boards, the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations Council. The Directorate of government examinations was formed as an independent executive in February 1975. Previously, e- government exams were in Madras. Therefore, the government of Tamil Nadu has formed a new joint school exam by combining the existing two separate boards say high school board and the board of education department of the high school exams. The Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination evaluates students’ progress by conducting two board examinations-one at the end of class 10 and the other at the end of class 12. The scores from the class 12 board examinations are used by universities to determine eligibility and as a cut-off for admissions into their programmes.
