The record of fastest fifty in test cricket is held by Misbah-ul-Haq, the former captain of Pakistan. He acheived the feat in 21 balls in the year 2014 against Australia in Abu Dhabi.
David Warner of Australia is the second on the list as he scored the second fastest test fifty against Pakistan in Sydney in 2017.
Rishabh Pant smashed his way to record books by scoring a whirlwind half century of 29 balls in the fifth test match vs Australia in Sydney, 2025, thereby becoming the only visiting batsman to score the fastest fifty in Australian soil.
He previously scored a half century of 28 balls vs Sri Lanka in 2022.
