    Volcano is a landform at the end of a conduit or pipe which rises from below the crust and vents to the surface. Magma rises and collects in the magma chamber deep below, resulting in eruptions that are effusive or explosive forming the mountain landform. The volcanic eruptions are closely associated with sea-floor spreading, plate-tectonics and mountain building process. Here, we are giving the list of World’s Major Active Volcanoes of the World which can be used for academic purpose as well as preparing for competitive exams.

Thus, there is a close relationship between the plate boundaries and the distribution of the volcanoes in the world. In fact, the volcanoes are concentrated along the plate margins.
